SUMMARY: Join us for a laid-back, BYO picnic potluck at one of Concord’s hidden gems – Sewell Falls Recreation Area! Tucked away down 2nd Street past the railroad tracks, Sewell Falls might seem a little industrial at first glance – but don’t be fooled. Once you park in the boating lot and follow the short trail to the river, you’ll find a beautiful and eclectic riverside spot with clear green water, a small sandy beach, and the moss-covered ruins of an old canal system. It’s not your standard manicured park – expect a little graffiti and some overgrowth – but that’s part of its charm. We’ll gather near the beach area to share snacks, splash in the water, and soak up the summer vibes. Feel free to bring games, instruments, refreshing beverages, or whatever helps you unwind and connect. There are also walking trails nearby if anyone wants to explore. This is a sober-friendly, body-positive, and all-gender-affirming space. Come as you are. All queer folks and allies welcome. Need a ride? Post in the event comments – we’ll do our best to coordinate carpooling. Rain plan: We’ll keep an eye on the forecast and post updates here. |
