The walk will traverse through open fields and pine forests, while following the path of a railway constructed in 1903 to transport marble from VT quarries to Manchester Depot. VT marble was used to construct The NY Public Library, Arlington National Cemetery as well as many other notable and historic buildings throughout the US. WEATHER & WHAT TO BRING: Bring rain gear & dress warmly (with layers) and bring gloves to keep your hands warm, & comfortable hiking shoes. Check the weather in Manchester the morning before the hike before you leave home & dress for the weather.
