SUMMARY:

Join us for an unstructured day of easy hiking exploring Turkey Run Park.  The park is located within The George Washington Memorial Parkway.  The parkway was designed for recreational driving linking sites that commemorate important episodes in American History and preserve the habitat for local wildlife.

Turkey Run Park preserves a vertical slice of the Potomac Gorge ecosystem. A unique combination of flora, especially early spring wildflowers, and fauna makes a home in the park's riverbanks, flood terraces, upland forest, streams, and underground seeps.

There are no trash receptacles within the park, we pack out what we pack in – no trash left behind.  Bring a lunch, water and dress appropriately for the weather.

Depending on group interest we can meet at a local pub for an afternoon beer/drink and/or a light bite to eat.
