Meeting Time: 9:30 AM

Event Coordinator: dnaturist
Suches, GA
US

Max # People: 8

Trip Guiding / Event Fee: No, I will not be asking participants for money

Difficulty Level: Strenuous

SUMMARY:

This is a difficult but very scenic remote section of the Bartram Trail. This section of the trail gives the Benton MacKaye the reputation of being tougher than the AT. The elevation gain for this hike will be over 4000 feet. Allow 7 hours of hiking time for this adventure.

We will visit the tops of three mountains on this hike; Wilscot, Licklog, and Wallalah.

This will be a one way hike that will travel north to south and require a shuttle. Shuttling should be rather easy, as both trailheads are on SR 60.

The Cherokee word for this area is "Skeinah" which means ghost. Hopefully, we will complete the hike before dark.

We will be meeting at Martin's Dixie Depot and will be leaving there at 9:30 AM sharp to travel to the trailheads, which are close by. Please note that there are no amenities at the Depot. The store is no longer open.
