SUMMARY:

Join us for a moderate Sunday hike to the summit of Mount Waumbek (4006 feet).

Starting near Route 2 on Starr King Road we will hike the Starr King trail for 3.6 miles to the wooded summit of Mount Waumbek, a 4K Footer in the northern part of the White Mountains National Forest.  We will return using the same trail.

Please bring a lunch, water, and sturdy footwear.  Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Mark and I will be staying at the White Birches Campground in Gorham since we will be hosting a hike in Gorham the day before.

Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:

From Exit 35 off of Interstate 93:  Take US-3 North to NH-115 North in Carroll (14.7mi.).  Follow NH-115 North for 6.6 miles then turn left onto NH-115A North and follow it for 4.1 miles to US-2 East.  Turn right onto US-2 East and drive 0.2 miles to Pool Road.  Turn left onto Pool Road and follow it for 0.1 miles where you will find Starr King Road.  Follow Starr King Road to a small parking lot at the trail head.

From the Junction of NH-16 and US-2 in Gorham:  Follow US-2 West for 18.6 miles.  Turn right onto Pool Road and follow it for 0.1 miles where you will find Starr King Road.  Follow Starr King Road to a small parking lot at the trail head.
