SUMMARY:

Jan 19-21 2013
We have coordinated with Dave and Scott from Frog Meadow Bed & Breakfast in southern VT to block out the entire MLK weekend for a GO Members winter getaway. This is the 2nd year for this fun and relaxing event, which booked up very quickly!

We can arrive late afternoon/early evening Friday and stay through Monday afternoon.

Lodging: Frog Meadow has 6 separate rooms with a total of 4 queen-size and 3 king-size beds, so the event is limited to a maximum of 14.

Our “GO weekend getaway package price” is based on double occupancy (two people sharing a queen- or king-size bed); note that a single occupancy option is available, see below.

See http://www.frogmeadow.com/rooms_rates.html for more information about the lodging configurations and amenities at Frog Meadow.

Activities:
·               We will start the weekend after dinner (on your own) on Friday night with a fireside welcome and social.

·               Saturday, Sunday & Monday mornings will start with a full country breakfast.

·               On Saturday, Sunday & Monday, we’ll break off into groups and decide how we would like to spend the day. There are several options:

o   There are over 60 acres with blazed trails for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing at Frog Meadow. A limited amount of snowshoes are available on-site. These trails are ungroomed skier-set track and best for experienced skiers. The terrain is gently sloping to steep with some easier and some more difficult options and is easy to moderate snowshoeing difficulty.

o   Frog Meadow is also very close to Mount Snow and Stratton for alpine skiing/boarding and Prospect Mtn/Grafton Ponds/Wild Wings for groomed XC skiing and XC equipment rentals. Grafton Ponds is less than 20 minutes away, has snowmaking and also has a tubing hill!

o   Depending on the weather, there is excellent ice skating on the north side of Brattleboro at the Retreat Meadows, a 15 minute drive from Frog Meadow.

·               Saturday and Sunday evenings we will all get back together for chips & dip/BYOB happy hour followed by a casual home-cooked “localvore” buffet dinner prepared by Dave. A vegetarian option will be available. Post-dinner is time for fireside or tubside (Frog Meadow has a really cool wood-fired hot tub!) relaxing and conversation.

·               Frog Meadow also has a full gym that is available throughout the weekend. The gym has a universal, an Olympic free weight set with dumbbells from five to 100 lbs., a stationary bike, Pec Dec, cables for rowing and legwork and yoga mats.

·               Bring Along Your favorite beverages for the weekend and snacks to share on Friday & Saturday nights.

Price & Reservations: The price of $315 per person includes 3 nights lodging with full country breakfast each morning, dinner Saturday & Sunday nights and full access to the amenities at Frog Meadow from Friday arrival through Monday departure.

This package price is based on double occupancy (two people per queen or king-size bed); note that a single occupancy option is available for $485 for those who snore or would prefer not to share a bed/room.

Please make your reservation directly with Frog Meadow (802.365.7242). This will allow you to the room you prefer and to use a credit/debit card for payment. 50% of the $315 will be due at the time of reservation; the balance is due a week prior to the event. In the event of cancellations, we will keep a waiting list.

Since Frog Meadow has blocked out the weekend just for us, be sure to identify yourself as a GO member and that you are booking for the GO Weekend.
