This area is designed for gay outdoors enthusiasts and gay outdoor adventure/sports clubs to share and post their collection of photos from one of our their trips/activities. Put us in touch with the photos by sending us the web site address (if posted on a web site) or email them to:GayOutdoors Webmaster. Send us along a trip report along with your pictures and we might make your trip into a feature article on our web site!

Send the photos as GIFs or JPGs. Include the trip name, date held and a brief description.

We will let everyone know about new photos being posted in our e-mail newsletter, Trail Mail. Attach a trip/activity report and we'll post it under Today's News. It might even make it as a feature story!

Rockingham Recreational Trail Mountain Bike Ride (NH) 5/6/06
Five of us met in Derry, NH with the threat of showers for a 20-mile up and back mountain bike ride to Sandown, NH. A few sprinkles, sandy sections of trail, large puddles to get muddy and great company!

Old Rag Hike (VA) 3/5/06
Putting to rest unfounded rumors that Southerners are fearful of hiking in the Winter, six hardy guys from Washington, Richmond, and Charlottesville met up to tackle one of Virginia's most famous hikes: Old Rag. Joining me for the event were Steve, Ben, Jim, Barry, and Nick. Everyone agreed that we had a great time, in part due to the good company, the few other hikers on the trail, and the relatively warm temperatures.

Carter Notch Hut Winter Overnight (NH) March 4-5, 2006
I was concerned that the cold I caught during week would force me to back out running this trip. Friday night Tom, Mark, Andrew and Colin joined me for an overnight at the Mad River Lodge. Tom left early so he could hike up Carter Dome with John. Apparently an isolated snowstorm dumped over one foot of snow in certain areas up north.

The guys knew it was going to be a tough hike going into it. The weather predictions of a cold front coming through with rain and freezing temperatures swung the needle on the tough gauge a few more notches.

Three Ponds Hike (NH) 2/20/07
At the junction of Donkey Hill Cut-off, I walked across an abandoned beaver dam on the Three Ponds Trail to reach the Upper Pond. I could also hear the sounds of cracking ice on this 12-acre pond. I’ve been here before in winter but never heard this before. Perhaps I was not able to enjoy the silence due to the loud sounds of snowmobiles in winters past.

Linda and her partner, Rick and I got together for a trip to East Pond. This hike traveled along an old railroad path, so it intrigued us. By the time we traveled the 19 miles across the Kancamagus Highway from ‘touristy’ Lincoln, NH, we were ready for some solitude.

Peak Above The Nubble Bushwhack (NH) 2/18/06
Peak Above the Nubble at 3,855 feet has no trails to its summit and is one of the hundred highest summits in New England. With temperatures around 9 degrees, wind speed at 30 mph and a wind chill of 12 below zero, the hike presented itself with new challenges.

Mt. Mansfield Traverse (VT) 2/4/06
Saturday morning found the skies to be clear, the sun shining and temperatures around 30. A large group met us at the trailhead for the 10AM start and included Rick, Markus, Stephane, Christel, Mike C., Charley, Ed, Carlos, Andrew, Colin, Jon and myself. We started off on the snow covered Rte. 108 that is closed in winter. This road continues up to Smuggler’s Notch. We didn’t go up that far. After about .25 mile, we left the road and began to hike on the Long Trail. We left the tourists below.
