Summary

We will meet at 11:00 in West Palm Beach on the southern entrance to Grassy Waters Preserve and bike at least part of the Owahee Trail. http://www.wpb.org/grassywaters/owahee_trail.php   The parking area is off of Jog Road a little north of Okeechobee Blvd.  Do NOT go to Northlake, we will be at the bottom of the preserve.  Click on the link (or copy to your browser if the link doesn't work), click on the map.

It's really a levee around the watershed for the city's fresh water, flat, pretty smooth surface BUT you still need fat tires to do this one.  It's a nice marsh, we should see gators, wading birds, hawks.  You need to bring your bike, a tire repair kit (or be ready for a walk if you flat), plenty of water, sun protection, maybe bug spray I'm not sure how they'll be, snacks.  There are only a few bailout options but you can turn around and go back the way we came when you've had enough.  Optional:  we may go to a Venezuelan restaurant for lunch after.  RAIN CANCELS.  Your choice of 14 miles or up to 26 (or 52, or 78 etc.).   This is a joint Florida Great Outdoors/Gay Outdoors event and women are welcome!

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

Directions:  95 or turnpike to Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm, go west to Jog Road, turn right/north on Jog, the gate and parking  will be on your left while you are in a broad curve but it's poorly signed;  if you miss it, turn around at the U-turn.
