Summary

Join Neil B. and Jim B. for a hike to the summit of Mt. Sunapee. We’ll hike the two mile (one way) Summit Trail, an elevation gain of approximately 1600 feet. If there’s time and interest, we’ll make a side trip to the Lake Solitude overlook, an additional 1-1/2 miles round trip. This is a “moderate” hike, OK for novice hikers or even fit beginners. We’ll have lunch on the summit. Bring a lunch, water, sunscreen, sturdy footwear, and layered clothing. It could be cool at the summit. We’ll meet at the entrance to Spruce Lodge in the main parking area at the end of the Sunapee Access Road off Rt. 103 in Newbury, NH. Meeting time: 11 a.m.

NOTE: I'VE INCREASED THE PARTICIPANT LIMIT TO 18. (I'm unable to edit that field in the listing.) IF YOU'RE #1-8 ON THE WAITING LIST, PLEASE SEND ME YOUR EXTERNAL EMAIL ADDRESS. I WON'T BE ABLE TO SEND BULK EMAILS TO THE WAITLIST GROUP OTHERWISE.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

From Boston and points south, take I-93 to I-89 north just before Concord, NH. Follow I-89 about 20 miles to exit 9. Turn right on Rt. 103 west, and follow the route about 15 miles to the traffic circle at the junction of Rt. 103B. Turn LEFT on the Access Road (which may be Rt. 103B at this point), and follow straight to the end at the Mt. Sunapee Resort. (Don't take the road that you'll pass on your left.) From the north, follow GPS directions to the junction of Rts. 103 and 103B in Newbury, NH, then follow the directions above.
