Summary

I am planning a long weekend at Cove Lake State Park near Caryville, TN (just north of Rocky Top, Tennessee!), about 30 miles north of Knoxville. I plan to arrive on Thursday night, August 20. Friday, I plan to go geocaching in the area, maybe along one of "power trails" nearby.

Saturday morning, I will be attending a geocaching gathering that involves a CITO (Cache In, Trash Out) event, a couple of classes on basic (and advanced) geocaching, finding practice caches and new REAL ones, win prizes, and eat a FREE lunch. More information will be provided to those that express interest in participating.

Come for the entire weekend or just for a day.

I do hope to exchange messages ahead of time to iron out details as much as possible - so that no one is surprised or disappointed.

Are you singing, "Rocky Top" still?

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

On I-75, about 30 miles north of Knoxville, TN, take exit 134/Veterans Memorial Hwy and head east. Go 1/2 mile and turn left into the main entrance of the park. My camping reservation has been CANCELLED. I will be at the Park Office at 8:30 a.m. for the CITO (take first right upon entering the park). The other events, starting at 10:00 a.m., will be in the Recreation Building at the end of Goose Lane (the first left upon entering the park).

See you there! Just ask for... GameForTravel

Since no one has yet signed up, I am changing my plans. My sister is now going in order to attend the Geocaching events, and she will be staying in a hotel. I will now be "cheating" and stay with her - and cancel my camping reservation. Everyone is still invited to attend and participate for a fun weekend (or day) of caching.
