Summary
Come join us Don and myself for our annual trip to Franconia Brook Falls. Franconia Brook Falls is located, just east of Lincoln NH. The Falls are a wonderful swimming hole nestled at the start of the Pemi Wilderness over three miles in from the trail head. What makes it even better is the wild experience of going over the falls. A naturally formed flume allows the swimmer to put themselves in a channel that's about 10 feet long and then takes you over the falls (about 8 feet high), landing in the pool below. Whether you want to go over the falls, swim in the many swimming holes or just catch some rays, it makes for a great day. The trip will start off by crossing the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River via a 160-foot long suspension bridge. Then we pick up the Lincoln Woods trail, which follows the route of the old Lincoln Railroad. This trail takes up right to Franconia Brook Falls. We plan on having lunch as we relax at the falls. The hike is a total of 6.5 miles and mostly flat. Pack a lunch, water, sunscreen and wear shorts you can swim in bring a pair and change in the woods.
No, dogs please.
Rain date – Sunday August 2nd
