Summary

I have coordinated with Dave and Scott from Frog Meadow Bed & Breakfast in southern VT to block out the entire MLK weekend for a GO Members winter getaway. This is the 5th year for this fun and relaxing event, which books up very quickly!

We can arrive late afternoon/early evening Friday and stay through Monday afternoon.

Lodging: Frog Meadow has 5 separate rooms with a total of 3 queen-size and 3 king-size beds, so the event is limited to a maximum of 14 (including hosts Scott & Dave).

Our “GO weekend getaway package price” is based on double occupancy (two people sharing a queen- or king-size bed); note that a single occupancy option is available, see below.

See http://www.frogmeadow.com/rooms_rates.html for more information about the lodging configurations and amenities at Frog Meadow.

Weekend Overview:

Wine & Cheese Welcome Gathering! We will kickoff the weekend on Friday evening with a fireside wine & cheese welcome and social hour. Based on everyone’s arrival time there may be an (optional) informal pizza party…

Delicious Full Country Breakfasts! Saturday, Sunday & Monday mornings will start the day with our hearty, full country breakfast…

Downhill/Snowboard, Cross Country and/or Snowshoe!

  • Option #1: Downhill Ski & Snowboard: Frog Meadow is very close to Mount Snow and one of the trip co-leaders will coordinate a daily trip for downhill skiers and Snowboarders to Mt Snow.

  • Option #2: Cross-Country Ski: Prospect Mtn, Grafton Ponds and Wild Wings are all close to Frog Meadow for groomed XC skiing and XC equipment rentals. Frog Meadow’s Scott & Dave will coordinate a daily trip   for cross-country skiers to one of the local areas, based on where conditions are best.

  • Option #3 Snowshoe: There are over 60 acres with blazed trails for snowshoeing at Frog Meadow. One of the trip co-leaders will lead daily snowshoe excursions. The terrain is gently- sloping-to-steep with some easier and some more difficult options and is easy to moderate snowshoeing difficulty. The highlight of the trail network is the “Brokeback Cabin”, a small rustic warming hut with beautiful southwest views. Note that a limited amount of snowshoes are available on-site.

Apres-Ski: Wood-Fired Hot Tub & Fireplace! Frog Meadow’s wood-fired hot tub will be operating throughout the weekend and in the evening there will be a cozy fire in the fireplace of Frog Meadow’s Great Room, a comfy place to recap the day’s events and enjoy the company of others!

Yummy Localvore Dinners! We’ll gather on Saturday & Sunday evenings for a yummy lovalvore dinner, cooked from scratch by Dave…

BYOB: Frog Meadow does not have a liquor license so bring along your favorite beverages for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Rate & Reservations: The rate of $400 per person (plus 9% VT rooms & meals tax) includes 3 nights lodging with full country breakfast each morning, family-style dinners Saturday & Sunday nights and full access to the amenities at Frog Meadow from Friday arrival through Monday departure. Note that GO Paid members are eligible to receive a 10% discount, so the GO Paid member price is $360.

This package price is based on double occupancy (two people per queen or king-size bed); note that a single occupancy option is available for $555 for those who snore or would prefer not to share a bed/room (the single GO Paid member price is $505).

Once you sign up, please make your reservation directly with Frog Meadow (802.365.7242). This will allow you to the room you prefer and to use a credit/debit card for payment. 50% of the amount is due at the time of reservation; the balance is due 2 weeks prior to the event. This weekend event typically books up early! In the event of cancellations, we will keep a waiting list.

Since Frog Meadow has blocked out the weekend for us, be sure to identify yourself as a GO member, that you are booking for the GO Weekend, whether or not you are a paid GO member, and of course the GO discount code.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

Directions to Frog Medow will be provided by Dave and Sott with your reservation.
