It was a fantastic 5.4 mile outing to Mt. Martha and Owl’s Head. Drizzle at the trailhead gave way to snow a little higher up.

Beautiful trail. Sticky snow ensured fantastic traction throughout so we did not need MicroSpikes. Watching the winter wonderland unfold throughout the day was as much of a view as anyone could want!

Mt. Martha starts out easy then steep until junction. Last .2 miles to summit easy. Trees well laden with snow. Hardly any wind! Then a quick .8 mile using Martha’s mile to Owl’s Head!

Four-thousand footer type feel to it. Had both peaks to ourselves!

Only saw three people; one heading down from Mt. Martha while the other two were starting off on Martha’s Mile heading to Owl’s head. Highly recommend this hike. A must do hike!

Jon and I hung out by the fireplace when we returned having a few drinks and enjoying our holiday decorations! So lucky to have Jon with me during this COVID holiday season. Love you bro!!! You are the center of my universe!

Thanks to all GO members for joining us on this beautiful Thanksgiving weekend hike in a winter wonderland!
