Warm sun, beautiful day, empty New England roads, and 8 gay riders. Who could ask for more?

We set off on our 45-mile ride from downtown Brattleboro, VT and pedaled south along the Connecticut River on smooth roads through Vernon VT. Heading west through Gill, MA, gorgeous farm country unfolded as promised with picture-postcard perfect vistas of farmlands, fields and meadows, including a rare sighting of a "Gay Pride Cow" apparently part of the "Strollong of the Hefers" event held in Brattleboro this weekend!

After a quick lunch break at the picnic table at Gill’s Library we continued our safari and with smooth sailing, no lost or misplaced souls and only one flat tire later, it was well-earned screamer of a downhill on Tyler Hill and back through Vernon to Brattleboro.

Following the ride, the majority of the guys made their way back to Frog Meadow for a 120-minute social hour of good company, snacks, drinks, a dip in the swimming pond and a soak in the hot tub before showering and heading home.

Many thanks to all for joining us, to Tim for sharing HIS GORP, to Mark, Tom, Marc, Ken & Paul for the post ride snacks at the apres-ride BYOB mixer, to Scott & Dave for hosting the mixer - and again to all participants for making the day so pleasurable!

Mark your calendar now for Saturday September 22 for another spirited ride through the Tri-State region of Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire…and more great company and fun! We'll post details to the GO site shortly, in the interim the event is posted to the Frogmeadow site at this link, hope to see you then!
