Trip Report/Photos

Three of us (two from other sites) hiked an 8.1 mile section of the Florida National Scenic Trail. The first half of the hike was on a nice tree canopied trail. Half way through the hike we came upon the Wekiva River and a large group of kayakers at a State Parks function.

On the second half of the hike the terrain left us without much shade as the soil was very sandy (poor) and not much but scrub was growing there.

We saw only two others hikers on the trail. Very peaceful hike between the Cassia Trailhead and the Bear Pond Trailhead.
