Summary

Hike to one of the most magnificent hikes in the White Mountains with a fun social mixer to follow at a local restaurant!

Join us on this this 9.8 mile loop hike with 3,500 feet elevation gain up South Baldface [3,556 ft.] and North Baldface [3,566 ft.].

The Baldface Circle Trail is one of the most magnificent hikes in the White Mountains with nearly 4 miles of open ledge rivaling the northern Presidentials in terms of views.  Steep scramble up side of South Baldface may make some people nervous.

What to wear/bring: Wear clothing suitable for the hike in layers...no cotton or blue jeans.  Have a rain jacket in the event of inclement weather. Bring along plenty of water (at least 2 liters), lunch, snacks and anything else you may require for a day hike. Contact us if you have any questions.

Following the hike, members are welcome to Gorham, NH to join us for dinner and a social mixer at Mr. Pizza!

As we monitor the COVID-19 updates, we will keep you informed, as best we can, of any changes to this planned event.

Lodging Option: Bunk beds are available at our house [with Wi Fi] near Waterville Valley, NH for Friday and/or Saturday nights. It's $25 per night. Coffee/bagels each morning and linen/blankets/towels are provided. Space is limited to four so email ASAP to reserve a bunk! If we fill up, you may tent in our yard at $5 per night.

From I-93 just past Cannon Mountain take exit 35 onto US Route 3. Continue through the Twin Mountain junction crossing US Route 302. Still on US Route 3, make a right onto NH 115 in Carroll. Follow NH 115 to US Route 2. Make a right onto US Route 2 and follow it to Gorham. Stay on US Route 2 to the junction of NH/ME 113 just a little past the Maine border. At 113, make a right turn and follow 113 to the trailhead in North Chatham.

From Conway, drive east on NH Route 113 as it joins US Route 302 and approaches Fryeburg, Maine. On the outskirts of Fryeburg, turn left [north] on Route 113 and follow its various twists and turns through farmland intervale as it weaves back and forth across the Maine/New Hampshire border and rises into the foothils of North Chatham, NH. The Forest Service parking lot is 14.5 miles north of US 302 and 0.15 north of the access to the AMC Cold Water Campground.

A Forest Service parking lot for the Baldface Circle Trail is on the east side of Route 113.
