Summary

Those who would like to car-pool should meet our group at the Pride Center in Wilton Manors FL (2040 N Dixie Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305) for a 9AM departure. We will drive to Juipter FL to Riverbend Park (9060 W Indiantown Rd, Jupiter, FL 33478). Anyone who'd like to meet us there may do so around 10:15AM. There is an outfitter there (https://www.jupiteroutdoorcenter.com/riverbend-park/rentals/onsite to rent canoes or kayaks. We will probably do a 4 hour total paddle. There an a rope swing near that damn that should permit swimming. Please also pack a lunch, not for eating on the river, but for afterward. There are picnic spots in the park. The Loxahatchee River is a beautiful wild and scenic river. Along the river is a wide diversity of plant life including both tropical and temperate vegetation. Wildlife abounds around you as you paddle along. The narrow winding tea-colored waters are canopied along most of the river by majestic cypress trees offering  paddlers a shady, unique and sometimes challenging experience.
