Summary

The Sprague Pond trail is located in Phippsburg Maine (Bath area).   The trail is approximately  5 miles – which (if the group would like)  we could expand the hike to  include the Mica Mine trail.  Sprague Pond is part of the Basin Preserve which covers  1,910 acres of the Phippsburg  Nature Conservancy (which includes coastline on the saltwater inlet).  The trail includes “massive boulders with ledge tops and scruffy pines.  The preserve also has a deep water pond, with rock ledges”.

Walking the 5 – 7 miles of trails should take under 3 hours.   Afterwards let’s do lunch at a local eatery of the group’s choosing.

Make sure to bring the following:

  • Hiking footwear/boots -  bring what you’ve got -  stabilizers/micro-spikes/snowshoes (dependent on snow coverage)
  • Dress in layers
  • Plenty of water
  • A snack (lunch will probably be between 1 and 2pm  - if you decide to join us)
