Summary

This will be a fascinating Boston walk along the historic waterfront, through the North End and over to the GO Holiday Party at the Club Cafe.  On our five-mile ramble, we'll explore the 18th and 19th century wharfs on the Boston Harborwalk, including Long, Commercial, Lewis and Battery Wharfs.  Then we'll hook onto the Freedom Trail, first visiting Copps Hill Burying Ground, where we'll pay a solemn visit to the grave of the Reverend Cotton Mather, so infamous during the 1692 Salem Witch Trials.  Then, we're off to walk past the Old North Church, the Paul Revere House, and through the Italian North End, finally ending up at Faneuil Hall Marketplace.  From there, our destination will be the Club Cafe, but along the way we'll stop in a local watering hole for refreshments, admire the spectacular Boston Xmas Tree on Boston Common, and take in the newly - and festively - outfitted Make Way for Ducklings sculptures.  There is something for everyone on this city ramble!  Please be prepared for colder temps along the waterfront and wear those layers with gloves and hat!

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

We'll meet at the imposing statue of Sam Adams, right in front of historic Faneuil Hall at 1 Faneuil Hall Square, Boston, MA 02109. This is located right off Congress Street, opposite the back side of Boston City Hall.  There will likely be lots of people there, so look for me wearing a red Boston Red Sox baseball cap.  Best bet is to take the Orange Line T to either the State Street or Haymarket stops and walk over to the close-by Faneuil Hall.  Parking in downtown Boston is available, though only for a two-hour meter limit on the street.  There are some parking garages nearby, and please email me for suggestions on those if needed.
