Summary

A fun time to jingle with new and familiar friends. Free hot Hors d’Oeuvres, raffle and slide show. You don't have to be a GO member so bring friends!

Date: Saturday, December 10th
Time: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: 209 Columbus Avenue, Boston MA; Napoleon Room at Club Cafe

'Twas the 10th night before Christmas, and all through the hall, everyone was stirring, they were having a ball. The Napoleon Room was hopping, the Hors d’Oeuvres were the best, and GO members were sharing, great times with their guests. No one felt they didn't belong, some even broke into song, and everyone was chatting, and getting along.

The stockings were hung by the cash bar with care, bartenders hoping, tips would be collected there. Someone yelled out Ole' Ole', and everyone came to play, name tags were on, and nobody had to pay.  The Hors d’Oeuvres kept going, the members were hot, and the laughter kept growing, while drinking peppermint schnapps.

Santa Jon was laughing and drinking a beer, while giving away gifts he'd collected all year. Mike was presenting after the bell ring, a Glacier National Park slide show that was a wonderful thing. Eventually the fun and the night had to end, but all who came out said they were glad to attend. There are very few parties where cost isn't a fright, Merry Christmas to all, and to all may you enjoy a GO Christmas Party night.

We've shared some wonderful times hiking, swimming and camping in the mountains, socializing,  kayaking, backpacking, winter hiking...And so much more.  We can’t wait for you to get down with our fun filled Boston Holiday party and relive those fond memories with great friends, delicious food, slide show of this year’s past trips, club stats, raffle prizes and a slide show of our hiking vacation at Glacier National Park in Montana.

Everyone is invited...you don't have to be a GO member...so bring your friends. It’s our annual holiday party in the Napoleon Room at Club Café. The room will be lit up like a Christmas tree and filled with holiday cheer! Have you been enjoying outdoor activities since infancy? Or, are you simply thinking of starting? Our Holiday Party is your moment to see for yourself how outgoing, laid back, down to earth and friendly we are!

Pick up a name tag as you enter the room so that everyone knows your name. There will be a couple of cute boys taking drink orders [cash bar] and servicing delicious hot Hors d’Oeuvres. We haven’t finalized this year’s menu just but here is what we served last year to give you an idea: Asparagus & Asiago Cheese Filo Wrap; Spinach, Artichoke & Mozzarella Filo; Crab Cakes; Buffalo Chicken Spring Roll; General Tso’s Chicken Potsticker and Scallops Wrapped in Bacon.

Later in the evening, we’ll be raffling some great prizes for any Full Member who is present as a thank you for your continued support! To qualify, you must register for this event and appear on the RSVP list.   Prizes include a Frog Meadow  B&B gift certificate for $200 w/breakfast –only good for the winter season, gift cards to Club Café, lottery tickets, cash, EMS gift cards, hiking guides and more! [If you would like to donate something to our raffle, please contact us. We would love to include you!]

Upgrade to a full membership now to be eligible to win all these raffle prizes. A full membership helps us pay the bills so we can continue to provide programs to help outdoorzy men go outdoors and make new friends in a safe, comfortable atmosphere!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Boston, check out the Chandler Inn that is gay friendly and is very close to Club Cafe.

It was a very nice event, seeing familiar faces and meeting some new ones (and a WOOF to some of them, wow). I hope to cross paths with people through this year on many other GO events.

NHGuy1028 Posted Dec 12, 2016 at 6:30 PM

Mike and Jon - Thanks for all your work and dedication to the group. I really enjoyed the Holiday Event on Saturday. It's always great to catch up with old GO friends and make new acquaintances.

Also, I'll throw in a copy of my signed book, detailing the medical relief work I have done around the world and the patients I've taken care of. :)

minh Posted Dec 5, 2016 at 2:13 PM

I'm looking forward to seeing some established friends and meeting new people! I'll be happy to donate two 8-hour lift tickets to Powder Ridge Ski in Middlefield, CT (www.powderridgepark.com) for the raffle.
