We will be a group of around ten guys from several european countries and hopefuly from the U.S. too:-). The daily hikes can have from 5 to 7 hours walking time and ascents maximum 1600 meters alt.. Sometimes we will walk through deeper snow fields. You need a good condition and some experience in hiking. You need good and comfortable hiking shoes (high and waterproofe) and good outdoor clothes (also for cold and rainy weather).
Our Accomodation will be a Appartement Hotel in the small villiage Passy -Plaine Joux on 1200 m altitude located in opposite of the famous Mont Blanc. From our hotel we will start every day our hikes and return in the evening.We will have breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Always two guys can share one appartment with two single rooms (each guy one room) and one bathroom for two.
This is our programm. Of course you can take a day break at any day and stay at the hotel. May be we cant do all the hikes, it depends from the weather situation. In case of very bad weather we will make a day trip to Geneve or visit the thermal baths and sauna.
Saturday 6/22: Meeting 7 p.m. at our hotel and common dinner
Sunday 6/23: Breakfast 7 a.m., Start 8 a.m., Hike from our hotel to the fascinating "stone desert" in direction Col de la Portette ascent 1200 m alt., walking time 6 h, possibility for lunch at a mountain hut reataurant
Moday 6/24: Breakfast 7a.m., Start 8 a.m. to Le Tour, Hike to Refuge Albert I. along the Glacier du Tour with fascinating views Ascent 1200 m alt., Walking time 7 h, possibility for lunch at a hut restaurant
Thuesday 6/25: Breakfast 7 a.m., Start 8 a.m. to Chamonix, Hike to the (ice) mountain lakes Lac Blanc on 3000 m alt. Good chance to watch ibex and marmots. Ascent 1200 m alt, Walking time 6 - 7 h, possibility for lunch (restaurant)
Wednesday 6/26: Breakfast 7a.m., Start 8.00 a.m. to Chamonix. We will go by cable car directly into the Mont Blanc Massiv on the 3842 m high top Aguille du Midi with a great view. Then we go down to middle station Plan de l´Aiguille (2233m) and walk on the famous Henri-Vallot- Trail to Montenvers to Glacier Mer de Glace. We will return to Chmaonix with a historic cable car. Ascent 500 m alt, walking time 5 h , possibility for lunch( restaurant)
Thursday 6/27: Breakfast 7 a.m., Start 8 a.m. Hike to the clear mountain lakes Lacs Jovets on nearly 3000 m alt. Ascent 1500 m alt, walking time 6 - 7 h
Friday 6/28: Breakfast 7 a.m., Start a.m., Hike to Lac Vert (Green Lake) in direction Col d´Anterne. Ascent 1000 m alt, walking time 6 -7 h, possibility for lunch at a hut
Saturday 6/29: Breakfast 8 a.m., from 9 a.m. departure
The costs for the week will be around 515 Euro for accomodation, breakfast and dinners. You need some more money for sprit costs, if we share cars, for lunches in restaurants and for cable car tickets.
We will meet at our hotel in Plaine Joux/France. The next international Airport is Geneve/Switzerland. From there you have to go by train to Saint Gervais-les-Bains (Gare le Fayet)/France. The time to go by train from the airport to Saint Gervais-Gare le Fayet will be around 3 hours. At the station you can take a taxi or the bus in direction Plateau d´Assy and get off at stop PLAINE JOUX. Please contact me before booking a flight!
