Follow the leader's directions. We start as a group, stay as a group, and finish as a group. We are an outdoor group and therefore we should stay together like a group. If you are faster than the group and don't want to stay with us or want to head off on your own, this isn't the trip for you. Likewise, this trip isn't for you if you are slower than the group and expect us to constantly wait for you or want us to go on without you.

Find out about the trails you'll be traveling on - how steep, how long are they? Are you in the right physical shape to tackle the challenges? Find an activity whose Difficulty Level matches up with your Outdoor Fitness Level.  Have you checked the weather forecast and prepared with suitable clothing for cold conditions, rain and wind that can occur suddenly in the mountains?

Everyone should have food and water. A good rule of safety is that if one member of the group has a problem and has to turn around that he must be escorted back to his car safely (unless the member having the problem is absolutely sure he'll be fine; get make/color of car and make sure it's gone when you return back to the traihead). We encourage participants to take the initiative to be the designated driver for carpooling and that riders pitch in for gas. It is expected that you will take a turn leading a trip. Try it...it is fun!
